ここは浅草仲見世商店街です

There are many shops where you can buy lots of different kinds of souvenirs.

いろんなお土産を売っている店がいっぱいあります

At this store you can buy cat statues to bring you good luck and fortune.

この店で幸運と金運を招くとされる猫の置物が買えます

These are called maneki neko in Japanese.

日本語で「招き猫」と言います

At this store you can order personalised chopsticks.

ここでは名前入りのお箸が注文できます

You can also buy many foods.

色んな食べ物も売っています

These are agemanjyu.

これは揚げまんじゅうです

This one is Japanese plum flavor.

梅味です

Kinda salty.

The inside is sweet with bean paste.

中にはあんこが入っていて、甘いです

And the outside is kind of salty and plum flavoured.

The Tokyo Sky Tree is located 20 minutes from Asakusa Station.

Now it's time to cleanse ourselves before entering the temple.

お寺に入る前に、お清めをしましょう

First, wash your left hand and then your right and then rinse out your mouth.

まずは左手を洗って、そして右手を洗い、口をすすぎます

Pour the remaining water down the handle to clean it off.

残りの水で柄杓をきれいにします

Now we are going to go up to Sensoji Temple to pray.

浅草寺に祈りに行きます

What you do is you throw in your coins and then you put your hands together and pray.

まずはコインを入れて、手を合わせて、祈ります

Sensoji is a Buddhist Temple so unlike at Shinto shrines, you don't clap your hands.

浅草寺は仏教なので、神道の神社と違って、手を叩きません
