券売機で買って注文、食べてみよう

To use the ticket machine, first put in some money and pick what kind of meal you want to eat. You can choose either eat-in or take-out.

券売機は、まずお金を入れて、食べたい商品を押し、店内か持帰りかを選びます

The menu has pictures on it, so it's easy to choose.

メニューに写真がついているので、簡単に選べますよ

The price will change depending on what size gyudon you order (regular/large/extra large), so be careful.

牛丼は並盛り、大盛り、特盛りのサイズがあり、値段が変わってくるので気をつけて下さい

After buying the ticket, find an empty seat and sit down. Give the ticket to the staff when they come to your table. 

チケットを買った後は、空いている席に座って、店員さんが来たらチケットを渡しましょう

When you give the ticket to the staff, you can also ask them to customize your meal.

チケットを渡す時、カスタマイズ注文もできます

In most cases, they are five types of customization.

代表的なカスタマイズは５つあります

Tsuyu-daku : Gyudon with extra soup

つゆだく…牛丼の汁多め

Tsuyu-dakudaku: Gyudon with extra-extra soup

つゆだくだく…牛丼の汁かなり多め

Tsuyu-nuki: Without soup

つゆぬき…牛丼の汁なし

Negi-daku: Extra onion topping

ねぎだく…ねぎ多め

Negi-nuki: Without onion

ねぎぬき…ねぎなし

When the gyudon comes, eat it quickly before it gets cold.

牛丼が来たら、冷めないうちに食べて下さいね

Don't forget to put your hands together and say "itadakimasu" before eating.

ごはんを食べる前に手を合わせて「いただきます」というのを忘れずに！

There are several toppings that you can add. Do you want to add something?

いろいろな調味料があるけど、何か追加したいものはある？

We usually add seven spice or red pickled ginger to adjust the flavour.

一般的に牛丼に七味と紅ショウガを乗せて味の調整をします

In most gyudon restaurants, you also get miso soup with your gyudon.

ほとんどの牛丼屋の牛丼にはみそ汁が一緒についてきます 

When you finish eating, you put your hands together and say "gochisousama deshita"

食べ終わったら、手を合わせて「ごちそうさまでした」といいます
