♠：Paul, looking ahead, what is your career plan?
ポール、君は将来の自分の職業について、どう考えている？（look aheadは未来の話題を始めるときに使う。文頭につけることが多い）
♦：You mean something realistic or something a bit far-fetched like a dream?
現実的な話、それとも実現不可能な夢みたいな事？（far-fetched：ほとんど実現不可能な ※遠くて手が届かないイメージ＝long shot：※遠すぎて当てられない射撃のイメージ）
♠：Go ahead, tell me your dream.
そう、夢を語ってみて。
♦：Alright, I wanna start a company in the IT industry and succeed in a big way.
分かった。ＩＴ業界で起業し、大きな成功を収めたいな。
♠：You mean someone like Steve Jobs, a founder of Apple Computer?
アップルのスティーブ・ジョブスみたいになりたい？
♦：Right, I am thinking about the geniuses in our industry like Larry Page and Sergey Brin of Google, and Jerry Yang and David Filo of Yahoo.
そう、グーグルのラリー・ペイジやセルゲイ・ブリン、またはヤフーのジェリー・ヤンとデビッド・ファイロみたいな天才になりたい。（海外では具体的な人物名を話題に挙げて話の例えにすることが多い）
♠：All of them are brilliant. And they are visionaries.
彼らは凄く頭が良くて、先見性にも長けているね。
♦：They all are very wealthy like billionaires today.
彼らは、ビリオネアと呼ばれる位の大金持ちだ。
♠：We have some successful people in Japan like Masayoshi Son of SoftBank. They say he has a net-worth over 9 billion dollars. Also, we have Hiroshi Mikitani of Rakuten.
日本にもソフトバンクの孫正義みたいな成功者がいる。彼の純資産は90億ドルを超えると言われている。また、楽天の三木谷浩史もいる。
♦：See, they are all wealthy.
彼らは皆金持ちだ。
♠：Of course, Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook is another individual who is very wealthy.
フェィスブックのマーク・ザッカ―バーグも凄い資産家だ。
♦：What are we doing here? We must be doing something wrong. We better start doing something fast.
僕らは、こんな所で何をしている？ 僕らがしていることは何かがズレているに違いない。何かすぐにでも始めないと。(焦っている事を面白く示す常套句)
♠：You must be very smart and have a brilliant mind to be successful.
成功するには頭が良くて凄い知力が必要だ。
♦：You are right, but just sitting here is not going to get you anywhere.
確かに、でもここに座っているだけじゃどうにもならんな。（sitting here を否定するのでanywhereを使う。※否定文なのでsomewhereではない）
♠：A burning desire and exerting monumental effort to succeed are important factors.
成功するには、燃えるように強い意欲と、とてつもない努力が必要だ。（exerting effort：努力をする）
♦：Yes, my dad used to tell me that money should not be your goal. It is a result of your hard work.
その通りで、昔父に教わった事は、金は目的ではなく努力に対する結果だ
♠：I guess there's no such thing as easy money.
簡単なお金儲けなんて無いのだな。（お金儲けに対する常套句）
