2014年の漢字は「税」に決定！
英語で説明したらこうなる。
その年の世相を1文字で表す「今年の漢字」が2014年12月12日に発表された。2014年の「今年の漢字」に選ばれたのは「税」。2014年4月1日から消費税率が8％に引き上げられたことや、10％の引き上げが議論されたことで話題となった。
今年の漢字「税」を説明しよう！
In Japan, at the end of each year, a kanji character is chosen that represents the events of the year.
日本では、年末になると、その年の世相を表す漢字が発表されます
The reason the kanji is chosen on December 12th is because the numbers 1212 can be read as “良い字一字” (ii ji ichi ji) meaning “one good character”.
12月12日に発表される理由は、1212が“良い字一字”と読めるからです
This year’s kanji character is “zei”.
今年の漢字は「税（ゼイ）」です
“Zei” means tax.
「税（ゼイ）」とは税金を意味します
In Japan, the tax rate is eight percent.
