Arizona is very famous for golf,

and is listed as one of the best-in-the-world places in golf magazines.  

There are more than 400 golf courses to choose from.

Arizona's weather has some of the warmest winters in the world, 

which makes it one of the top golf vacation getaways in America and world.

You will feel wonderful playing golf while seeing desert and cactus around you.

アリゾナはゴルフがとても有名で、

世界で最も人気のあるゴルフコースとして雑誌でもよく紹介されます。

その数は４００以上あります。

アリゾナは年中暖かいので、世界で最も過ごしやすい冬と称され、

アメリカだけではなく世界中からゴルファーが集まります。

多くのゴルフ場はサボテンや砂漠に囲まれて、最高の気分でプレーができます。

We've had these experiences which show how strong golfing fever is in Arizona.

When we moved to Arizona, and bought our first car,

we were told that we could get a complete golf set if we bought the car.

But we politely declined, nobody in our family plays golf.

(But now I think that we should have taken the golf set)

アリゾナのゴルフ熱を感じる出来事として、こんな経験をしました。

アリゾナに引っ越して来て、最初の車を購入した時に

お店の人が、景品としてゴルフ一式セットをプレゼントすると言うのです。

我が家は誰もゴルフをしないので、丁寧にお断りしましたが。

（景品なのでもらっておけば良かったかな？　笑）

Around town in the neighborhoods, there are a lot of golf courses. 

The beautiful wide open spaces of golf courses can be seen from many backyards. 

Back yards with course views are a little more expensive.

But you can't be too happy to have a wonderful view in your back yard.

There is a danger that flying balls will break windows and other things.

町中の至る所にもゴルフ場があり、

広々としたゴルフ場が裏庭にあると言う家がかなり多いのです。

裏庭がゴルフコースという家は、少しばかり値段が高い様です。

しかし…絶景を手に入れたからといって喜んでもいられません。

ボールが飛んで来て窓などを壊されるなんていうこともあります。

You paid extra money to have nice back view,

but some houses have a BIG NET for protection. 

The neighborhood across the street from us has a golf course inside.

 I have noticed a few houses which have big nets.

高いお金を出して、ゴルフコースを臨む絶景の家を手に入れたのに

ネットを立てている家もちらほら。

また我が家の近所が、この様なゴルフ場の裏庭が売りのエリアで

数件の家が大きなネットを取り付けています。

The dangers are not only for the houses.

One day my sister-in-law was walking near the golf course

and a ball hit her in the thigh.

Beauty comes with dangers.

危険なのは家ばかりではありません。

義妹が近所を散歩中に、ゴルフボールが太ももに当たった事があります。

ちなみに裏庭がゴルフ場の家をGoogle earthで見てみるとこんな感じ。

そして赤い点がフェニックス郊外のゴルフ場です。

ゴルフ場だらけですね。
