イースターの卵の大悲劇！　
Ester egg disaster!

2016年の3月27日はイースターでした。

イースター（復活祭）は十字架にかけられて亡くなったイエスキリストが３日後に復活したことを記念する日です。

Easter in 2016 was on March 27th. 

Easter is a day to remember Jesus Christ who was hung on a cross and Resurrected after three days.

イースターには、卵とうさぎがシンボルとしてよく使われます。

卵から新しい生命が誕生することから、卵は復活を象徴しています。

また、うさぎは多産で豊かな象徴とされています。

Eggs and Bunnies are often used as symbols.  Easter is in the spring time, and eggs represent new life,

bunnies represent fertility because they have lots of babies.

今回は日本で経験したイースターエッグハンティングの話です

This is my Easter Egg Hunting experience when we lived in Japan.

アメリカではイースターの時に、プラスティックの卵の容器の中にキャンディーやチョコをたくさん入れたり、ゆで卵を作ってそれにペイントしたりします。

その卵を庭中に隠して、子ども達が卵を探すゲームがあります。

日本に住んでいた時も、子どものためにエッグハンティングをしていました。

For Easter in America, plastic eggs are filled with candy and chocolates.

Hard boiled eggs are also painted or colored.

Then the eggs are hidden, and children run around looking for the eggs.

We did Easter egg hunting for kids even we were in japan.

猪名川で迎える２度目のイースター。

最初の年は我が家だけでお祝いしました。

２度目の年は、仲良しさん家族を２組呼ぶことにして、準備で大忙し！

アメリカで買って持ってきていた、プラスティックの卵にキャンディー類を沢山入れ、ゆで卵を何十個も作り、子ども達とペイントしました。

This was our second Easter in Inagawa.

The first year, we celebrated with just our family.

The second year, we invited our close friends for a big party!

We put candy in the plastic eggs we brought from America. We made a lot of hard boiled eggs for the children to paint.

子ども達を喜ばそうと、５人の女の子には、うさぎのぬいぐるみを１週間で５つ作ってあげました。

I wanted to see the children happy.

So, for the 5 girls, I made 5 rabbit stuffed animals in a week and for the boys, we made toy guns made of wood.

とにかく……、準備は完璧でした

そして、イースターの当日

The plans were perfect!

Then the day of the party arrived.

子ども達が庭中から集めたゆで卵を数えてみると

何度数えてもひとつ多い！！

え～～～！！　もしかしてこの中に、昨年のゆで卵が入ってる？？

ということで、、完璧のはずだったのに、子ども達からゆで卵だけは全部没収（大泣）

何十個もゆでたのに……！

みなさんもこんな失敗をしませんように！

I counted all the Hard Boiled eggs that the children found.

BUT each time I counted, I had an extra hard boiled egg!!

Did the kids find one from last year????

It was perfect except for we had to take all the hard boiled eggs from the children.

We made a lot of hard boiled eggs…!

イースターってどんなもの？？

これは別の時に娘達に作った縫いぐるみですが、ほぼ同じ縫いぐるみを作りました。

イースターの日は子ども達が着飾ってイースター写真を写すことが多いので、多くの店がイースターセールを行います。

Easter time is a good time for pictures of the children, and they dress up in spring time clothes.

The stores have good sales for cute dresses.

イースターは毎年日にちが違うので、売り場のポップにも今年は3月27日がイースターですよ！　と書かれています

The sign reminds us what day Easter is on this year, because every year the day is different.
