店　Hello. How can I help you today?

いらっしゃいませ。何かお探しですか？

*How can I help you today?「何かお探しですか？／どういったご用件ですか？」は、店内でよく聞かれる店員の声かけです。他にも以下のような言い方があります。

・May I help you?

・What can I do for you today?

・Are you looking for anything in particular?

・What are you looking for today?

・Can I help you find something?

客　Where can I find men’s hats?

男性ものの帽子はどこですか？

*「女性もの」ならwomen’s XXXとなります。「婦人（紳士）用品売り場」ならwomen’s (men’s) sectionと言います

店　The men’s section is there, on that wall.

あちらの壁にかかっているものがすべて男性用です

客　Great, thanks.

Are you looking for anything in particular?

何かお探しですか？

*in particularで、「特に、具体的に」という意味を表します。「買いたいものはお決まりですか？」といったニュアンスで使われます。また、in particular「特に、具体的に」の代わりにspecific「具体的な」を使えば、Are you looking for anything specific? もほぼ同じ意味になります。

以下は会話例です

A: Are you looking for anything in particular?（特に何かお探しですか？）

B: I need a new tie. I’d like a red tie.（新しいネクタイが欲しいんです。赤がいいですね）

I’m sorry, we don’t have postcards here.

申し訳ありませんが、ここでは絵葉書は取り扱っておりません

I’m sorry, the red sweater has sold out.

申し訳ありませんが、そのセーターの赤は品切れです

Most items are 20% off today.

ほとんどの商品が２割引になっています

*mostは「ほとんどの」という意味です。７～９割と考えましょう

・Most people buy games online these days.（最近ではほとんどの人がネットでゲームを購入します）などと言えます
